Bruno the Adventurer in Orconte

Moored near us when we stopped in Orconte was an adventurer Bruno.  Bruno Sananès was in the midst of a long journey across France from Dunkirk to Bordeaux in a four-meter long boat. Bruno successfully completed his voyage across France on September 11th 2015.

Bruno’s previous adventure is even more amusing. He traveled the route of the Tour de France by donkey. According to his website, it took Bruno and his donkey 229 days to complete this journey. Along the way he was invited to diner 182 times, slept in a tent 182 nights, took 99 showers, and used one pair of shoes, five less than his donkey.

The whole story just makes me smile. There’s one regret when we met him on Orconte. We didn’t invite Bruno to dinner.

(Wanderlust encountered Bruno on the 5th of July, 2015. Orconte is 47 kilometers and 20 locks from Joinville. In between Wanderlust spent a nights in Chamouilley and Saint-Dizier.)

Wanderlust moored at the bank on the way to Orconte. The lock ahead went out of service at the end of the day and we had to moor where we could for the night.
